Summer Skin

So Whilst \I have been planning all these winter outfits (and especially a certain outfit for a certain event...LFW 2012 yessss!!) I forgot that I did actually still need things to wear for the Summer. Although I have a stupid amount of clothes (which I'm quite ashamed about), it turns out I sold pretty much all my casual summer wear on ebay last year, without even realising.

I'm fairly broke at the moment, even after payday for some reason, so it was a quick trip to Primark and New look for a couple of holiday essentials. Here's what I came out with!

That is going to have to be IT for shopping until London Fashion Week, or at least until next payday (whole month away, boohoo...)

In the meantime I'll be spending my time working (natch) and hopefully when my proper internet arrives, rewatching all of Arrested Development for the fourth time.

Till then xo

New outfits new outfits

So I went into Southampton to return some boots, and ended up using my birthday vouchers and more on new outfits...but hey, it meant a whole outfit only cost me £2.90 technically!!

Here they are, enjoy!

This it the technically cheap outfit... All from topshop (in the changing room, natch) - I've wanted a black leather jacket for ages, I have a brown one but it clashes with a lot of my shoes. This one isn't real leather either but I don't mind because its so pertttyyy.

Any opinions on the outfit would be greatly appreciated, Im a little unsure if the skirt goes but really like it.

I've also been very bored inbetween work lately with lack of tv and proper internet, so have decided to start getting creative again. For starters I made this floral headband, by just buying a buch of fabric flowers and attaching them to a black headband. Simples.

And here are a couple of other new bits I got in the Grand Shop today; h&m black tunic and h&m low platforms, with my homemade floral headband.

I was happy to find some wedges I can actually walk in, and they seem to go with most things.I also bought a wine/oxblood coloured pullover jumper (not pictured here) which I will take photos of soon. I've already decided what sort of things I want to be wearing for winter - dark, earthy tones but still with lots of fabric flowers. I'm also looking at more pullover jumpers to go with jersey high waisted skirts and shorts, with vintage esque boots and jackets and even darker lipsticks. The boots I returned (because they broke) I intend to get again (and hopefully they wont break again!) as they were just beautiful, have a pic;

After the whole hair dilemna, and even contemplating going pink at one stage, I think I will stay dark for winter! maybe next summer though...

I've also been busy watching lots of films, again due to the boredom, and a friend lent me 'An Education'. I love it! I've already watched it twice, and am Cary Mulligan's newest fan. Help.

Oh and before I go, one last outfit picture. I got the top a couple of weeks ago but have been struggling to find things that would go with it, opinions please!

Peace and love xo

Patterns of Fairytales

Today's outfit!
My new topshop skirt came which I loooove; it's one of only three maxi skirts I own, and I've only actually worn one of them ONCE before. I wasn't sure if it would suit me, but I think because its shorter at the front it works better....I am quite a short person... Anyway, I actually really like it and just wore it with a simple black tube top and gold earrings :)

Wildfire

Hello all,

I apologise for lack of posts as I've been crazy busy with work again. I'm going part time soon though, which means more time for fun things like this!

The end of July brought my birthday which meant many treats (yay!) particular favourites included the 3 cakes (one caterpillar cake, oh yes), the PINK cambridge satchel company personalised satchel (!!!) which I'll take pictures of once I start using it, and Comme Des Garcons springforms. I am a very lucky girl.

Here is a picture of the springforms which I picked up in France with my dad, we went on a little roadtrip round the North - don't remember if I wrote about it or not, but got to see a great photography exhibition at the Grand Palais, another great one at the Musee d'Art Moderne, and see the pompidou again. We also ate many tasty things, finally got the hang of the French Metro, and stayed in some lovely places.

Shoes & Snippets of France

I accidentally found myself browsing the latest of the Topshop and Miss Selfridge sales online, and also accidentally spent my paycheck before I actually got it.Will post the topshop stuff tomorrow, I bought a beautiful print dress from Miss Selfridge which didn't fit, so I exchanged it for this two pieces outfit which I am in LOVE with.

I am planning to buy some low black platform wedges from h&m to go with it, as I can't walk in mine. oh.

Although I've been working, Summer has also brought some wonderful days including late night beach trips, swimming in the Winchester water meadows (Sometimes I love this place) and trips to the zoo! Have a couple of pictures.

Till tomorrow xo

Candy Coated Dream

Evening all,

Just dropping by to share latest purchase. I've wanted some heeled boots for a reaaaally long time and they've always been ridiculous expensive or completely impractical (i.e. I can't walk in them whatsoever) but today, miracle of miracles, I stumbled across a pair in the Zara sale. There was only one pair left, in my size....fate eh....
Anyway basically I pretty much love them loads and loads even though they hurt a bit, so have a picture of them on my feet.

I'm also wearing them in my latest lookbook, so go and have a gander. I'm going to France on a mini roadtrip next week so am currently planning outfits (what a sad life eh) and these have definitely made the cut...

Also have a picture of a cake I made today for my dad. He doesnt eat cake but my mum wanted one to put candles in etc, so I made him a cake disguised as his favourite dessert - Muller yoghurts. Haaaaa.

I also made my friend Deano a birthday cake but forgot to take a picture, it is probably all in their bellies now :( Had a lovely evening though, went out for a meal with the boys for his birthday which is always fun, I do love them. Then went and saw some other friends at the pub for an evening of hysterical giggling and merriment - I love them lots also. Natch. Sleepy, can't construct proper sentences, hurhhhhh, niiiiight xo

Only in Snorbs...

Morning all, just a quick post to tell you about last nights festivities. We went to the folk street festival party thing near my hometown, and it was quite something. Morris dancers as far as the eye could see, bbqs at every single pub, and my old school teacher performing in his band completely hammered. bbqs at every single pub doesn't sound so exciting, but where I live actually has the most pubs per square foot than anywhere else in ENGLAND (apparently), meaning lots of food omnomnomnom. I was also pleased that it appeared to be Pimms O'Clock! Mmmmmm, Summer has truly begun. Anyway it was lovely to see my friends and a bunch of the guys who I hadn't seen in aaages came down for a catch up which was really nice, and we've all been roped into going dancing with them on Friday. Not to the classiest of places, but hey. Enjoy some pictures!

The second image is me with my friends Maddie and Charley, then Charley and Jess in the bottom one. awh.

Oh also this is what I wore yesterday just incase any of you were wondering:

Pretty much most the outfit is from topshop (shamefully), but I've decided it is going to be one of my Paris outfits! (I feel all sort of classy and French with the hat, you know...)

ciao xo

Funeral Beat

Morning all,

Just stopped by this morning to share my outfit of the day, i.e. just what I am wearing today.

I'm aware I'm in a pretty foolish position, but hey. I was trying to be creative! Anyway the collar is my new one from yesterday which I loooove, and it hasn't broken like the flimsy Miss Selfridge beaded one I had and HADN'T EVEN WORN YET. I know. Crop top was from the Topshop sale many a year ago, and skirt is from a vintage shop (possibly beyond retro?). Sunglasses were purchased from h&m on Sunday's London Day, altogether the whole outfit (accessories included) only cost me £34.99 which I think is pretty damn good! The colours aren't great in the photo, but the floral patterns are almost identical in person, just the skirt having a much larger print than the top. The top and skirt are also almost the exact same shade of navy in person. I know it's a lot of floral print but I thought the clashing almost sort of worked, especially with the colours/patterns being virtually the same. Anyway, I sort of just wore this top because I wanted a collared tshirt to wear my beautiful new collar necklace with :) As it turns out my afternoon plans have been cancelled...all that effort for nada, bah....

Monday 2 July 2012

Hello one and all!

Here is the update blog post, as promised. As mentioned I've been crazy busy with work but now have a week off before travelling to la belle France, so yeah. Here we are. In May I started work as a chef at Jamie Oliver's new restaurant in Winchester - it has been one of the craziest months of my life. It began with rapping, playdough, handcuffs and singalongs, and has progressed to table dancing, pizza moulding and hickey count charts. There have been tears, laughter, many many cuts and burns and I have learnt a ridiculous amount. Sometimes it gets a little tough but I wouldn't trade the experience for anything, and I think I'm finally starting to improve haha! I love the people I work with too, most shifts I'm doubled over crying with laughter. Sweethearts, too! Just because I want to rub everyone's nose in it (ha) enjoy a picture of us with the man himself! (if I haven't already posted it?)

I've got so much stuff to catch you up on, that it's probably going to go in no particular order. I've also been shopping a lot lately (payday woohoo!) which has been dangerous for my bank account, and possibly also dangerous for my health. But the sales are on, so... I don't even remember when I last posted pictures of clothes or things I bought, so I'm just going to start again with today. I went to 'Outfit' and stocked up on super cheap jewelerry - I'm loving chunky things right now, big gold earrings and rings, and delicately decorated collars. I also really like the pastels that seem to be everywhere still, candy coloured skulls mmmmm.

Also, simply because it happened today, I got something else really wonderful! My gran had been clearing out her house and came across these beautiful old treasures....a collection of the Salvador Dali perfumes. Combination of two great things - a brilliant artist and style, perfecto.

With everything else fashion wise, I will probably just post them as I wear them, as I tend to take lookbook outfit photos anyway...and I'll lose track. The photo below was my lookbook photo from yesterdat - the grey lace dress and hat I picked up froma  Topshop outlet store, and let me tell you - one of the most wonderous places on earth. for fashion crazed people like myself. Found some perfect pieces there, all for a fraction of the price! Managed to get my hands on the dress and hat, pink cardigan and metallic silver pleated skirt. I've also decided I definitely want to become a hat person, so am well and truly putting that into practice.

I even got a hat compliment from a lady who worked at the Saatchi gallery yesterday! Jude and I had one of our lovely London days, going round Brick Lane and ending up in Oxford Street. Here's a couple of pics we took at the Saatchi (art is so serious, you know)

Right at home, natch.... I'm so funny.

The lookbook above is just from today, the metallic shoes are from the urban outfitters sale (I didnt think I liked metallic but have started to?) and the bag is from the Miss Selfridge sale, I've been wanting one like that for a while :)

OH THATS RIGHT, I have just remembered the BIG (possibly) news. Big for me anyway. I've decided (or still thinking about the idea) that I want to go much lighter (hair wise), to a sort of honey/really really dirty dark blonde colour. I may look like a bellend which is why I'm still desperate for opinions (feel free to add input!), but I've wanted to go lighter for quite a while and now seems to be a good time for big changes. The world is your oyster etc etc etc...
These are possible hair-inspiration pictures (colour wise, but not style wise):

I'm trying to think of what else has been happening, but honestly SO MUCH has been happening that it is hard to know where to carry on from. Little bits of news may pop up from time to time, that I have forgotten to share, but to be honest none of it is likely to be very exciting to anyone other than me! So in the meantime, have a picture of a cake I baked for my little sisters 14th birthday today. She's becoming a little fashion queen... (taking after her big sis, obvs.)

To finish off (thats all I can remember for now), have some tunes. I've just listened to the new Regina Spektor album, which is great. Here are a couple favourites.

tomorrow beautifuls xo

Hello Sunshine

I haven't posted in a really long time because I have been crazy busy with many a exciting thing, including exhibitions and being a CHEF. That's right. I'll do a proper update post later, along with new and interesting fashion ventures and exciting things and things and things, but for now I just want to post a bunch of pictures (mostly just cupcakes) that I am pretty much backlogged with. Enjoy my pretties!

I've decided I still really really want to have my own little bakery/cupcake buisness, so I've been busy practicing. I'm not too fussed about how pretty they look so can't be bothered to faff around with tiny shiny roses, but I like making interesting flavours. The second picture above are pina colada flavoured cakes (or were supposed to be!) followed by melting marshmallow chocolate fudge cookies :)

Enjoy my latest lookbook too, I've been really bad with the fashion side of this blog lately (very sorry for all the neglect!) and when I have some free time I plan to invest a bit more...well, time, in it. This is the first ever maxi dress I've worn, I wasn't sure about them at first but I actually really love it! I bought it from a vintage fair in winchester where I was intending to ONLY look...oops. My hair also looks ginger here (phone camera quality for you), but it's not!! (Strange to say I sort of like it?)

Back again real soon with actual information, big promise this time! xo

ps. some things i've been listening to lately... (partly reliving my teenage years with the MCS)

Motion City Soundtrack - Point of Extinction (acoustic)

Nina Nesbitt - The Apple Tree

Ricky Eat Acid - Blinded
